Burnley vs Arsenal
SAT 6 MAR 2021 – KO 12:00
BETTING & MATCH PREDICTION
On Saturday morning night, Burnley host Arsenal at Turf Moor, with the hosts looking to increase the distance between them and the bottom three.
The Clarets aren’t in great form of late with one win in their last six games. However, they put in a very good performance on Wednesday when they drew 1-1 with Leicester and will be left wondering how they didn’t win!
Burnley will be looking to just stay up this season. Defensively they are strong enough to stay up in the league, it’s just in front of goal where they struggle. With just 19 goals all season, it’s clear to see they have an issue at the top end of the pitch.
The hosts will be looking to put in a similar performance to Wednesday night but will know they aren’t against a team plagued with injuires. Burnley will need to sit deep and not allow Arsenal space in behind, which is how Spurs put four past them last weekend.
Arteta’s side played Leicester in their last game also, beating them 3-1 after going 1-0 down. It was a good performance from Arsenal, who also left key players on the bench.
For Arsenal, a place in the European places is key. Currently, they sit 10th in the table with the three sides above them having games in hand. Arteta is going to have a decision to make soon whether to focus on the Premier League or the Europa League.
We expect Arsenal to bring back the likes of Aubameyang and Saka for this game. Burnley showed mid-week they can defend deep so it’s going to be key for Arsenal to keep the ball moving and pull players out of positions. Arsenal won’t try and put balls into the box as this won’t work but play balls into channels and in behind when possible.
Burnley are without Gudmundsson and Brady. Barnes should be okay for this one.
Arsenal only has one potential doubt who is Emile Smith-Rowe.
