BETTING & MATCH PREDICTION
On Saturday afternoon, Wolfsburg host Dortmund at the Volkswagen Arena, as the visitors look to keep pace with Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
The Wolves have undergone a relative revival in fortunes since the appointment of Florian Kohfeldt as head coach. The home team are now unbeaten in their last three matches in the Bundesliga, having recorded two wins and a draw.
The recent improvement in form means that a win in this clash could take the Wolves into the Champions League spots if of course results go their way this weekend.
Wolfsburg’s usually pretty steady home form has slipped this year. However, a 1-0 win over Augsburg in their last home match in the German top-flight ended a three-game winless streak in the league.
BVB are hot on the heels of perennial arch-rivals Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table. In fact, Marco Rose’s team are currently second-place in the table, just a point behind the Bavarians in the fight for the German top-flight title.
The visitors have found form of late, as a 2-1 win over Stuttgart last time out was their fifth win in six league matches.
The game once again saw Rose’s team in prolific scoring form, as they have now scored at least two goals in five of their previous six outings in the German top-flight.
BVB have been highly inconsistent on their travels of late in the Bundesliga, as they have won two and lost three of their previous five away games in the German top-flight.
Wolfsburg have fitness doubts over William, Koen Casteels, Xaver Schlager and Bartosz Bialek.
Dortmund have a long list of potential absentees through injury. In fact, Marcel Schmelzer, Luca Unbehaun, Marius Wolf, Giovanni Reyna, Nico Schulz, Erling Haaland, Thorgan Hazard, Youssoufa Moukoko and Mateu Morey could all miss out.
Wolfsburg have improved of late, while Dortmund have also been in good form in recent games. With all the potential absentees for BVB, we are backing the draw.
PREDICTION – DRAW
