On Saturday night, Stuttgart host RB Leipzig at Mercedes Benz Arena, in what promises to be a fascinating Bundesliga clash following the short winter break.

STUTTGART FC

The home side have acquitted themselves well in the Bundesliga since their promotion last season. Stuttgart are just three points outside the European spots in the top-flight, despite some inconsistent form before the short break in action. In fact, Pellegrino Matarazzo’s team have picked up just one point from their last two league matches against Union Berlin and Wolfsburg.

Stuttgart’s games have certainly not disappointed when it has come to goals of late, as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven Bundesliga outings.

RB LEIPZIG

Die Roten Bullen look to be a big threat to reigning champions Bayern Munich this season when it comes to the race for the Bundesliga title. Julian Nagelsmann’s team are currently third in the table, just two points behind the reigning German champions, who currently sit top of the table.

The visitors are unbeaten in seven outings in the German top-flight, having recorded four wins and three draws. Last time out they drew 0-0 with Koln. The game saw Leipzig keep their third straight clean sheet in the Bundesliga.

Leipzig have been difficult to beat on their travels of late, but have won just one of their last four league matches away from home in the German top-flight.

Stuttgart have several likely absentees through injury, including Erik Thommy, Clinton Mola, Hamadi Al Ghaddioui, Momo Cisse and Maxime Awoudja. RB Leipzig have some likely absentees of their own, as Christopher Nkunku, Konrad Laimer, Fabrice Hartmann, Justin Kluivert and Benjamin Henrichs could also miss out through injury.
