On Sunday afternoon, Dortmund host Monchengladbach at Signal Iduna Park, in a game that could prove to be massive at both ends of the Bundesliga table.

BVB may just have a foothold back into the race for the Bundesliga title after Marco Rose’s team cut the gap on reigning champions and league leaders Bayern Munich to six points at the top of the table.

However, for the home team to win the title this season they must find some form of consistency, which has been missing in recent seasons.

There are some signs of consistency as last time out, Dortmund recorded a 3-0 win at Union Berlin, which was their fourth win in five league matches. The game also saw BVB score at least two goals for the seventh straight match in the Bundesliga.

Marco Rose’s former team have struggled without their former head coach. In fact, the Foals are currently just four points clear of the relegation play-off spot. This season certainly hasn’t gone to plan for Rose’s predecessor Adi Hutter and his team.

Things may be about to turn round for the visitors though, as a 3-2 home win over Augsburg last time out ended a three-game winless run in the Bundesliga for the Foals.

Monchengladbach have not been great on their travels, as Hutter’s team has won just one of their last seven away games in the German top-flight. However, they are also unbeaten in three league games away from home.

Dortmund could be without Marcel Schmelzer, Erling Haaland, Thomas Meunier and also Mateu Morey for this clash. Monchengladbach are expected to be without Lars Stindl and Mamadou Doucoure through injury.
