On Saturday afternoon, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen clash at the Allianz Arena, in a massive game at the top of the Bundesliga table.

The reigning German champions look in good shape to record their tenth straight Bundesliga title this season. Julian Nagelsmann’s team is now eight points clear of second-place Dortmund in the title race after a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. The victory over Eintracht was Bayern’s fifth win in their last six matches in the Bundesliga.

Unsurprisingly, Nagelsmann’s team have also been in good form on home soil of late. The reigning champions have won seven of their last eight home games in the German top-flight. Bayern have been prolific on home soil in recent months in the Bundesliga, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five outings in the league.

Bayer Leverkusen

The visitors head into this game on the back of a similarly consistent run to their hosts, as Gerardo Seoane’s team has recorded five wins in their last six Bundesliga outings.

Die Werkself recovered from a 3-2 defeat by Mainz with a comprehensive 3-0 home win over Arminia Bielefeld last time out. The victory kept Die Roten Bullen four points clear of RB Leipzig and Freiburg, who are fourth and fifth-place respectively in the German top-flight table.

Leverkusen have suffered mixed fortunes on their travels of late in the Bundesliga, as they have lost three and won two of their previous five away games.

Bayern are without the suspended Theo Hernandez, while Manuel Neuer, Corentin Tolisso, Alphonso Davies and Leon Goretzka look set to miss out due to injury. Thomas Muller is a doubt due to illness.

Bayer Leverkusen could be without Julian Baumgartlinger, Patrik Schick, Karim Bellarabi and Andrey Lunev through injury.
