It’s Bayern Leverkusen vs Hoffenheim on Wednesday night, two of the most prolific teams in the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim go head-to-head at the BayArena in an exciting clash.

They headed into their last game at Eintracht Frankfurt in stellar form in the league, only to suffer an incredible 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Eagles. The loss ended a three-game winning run for Bayer in the Bundesliga. Despite the defeat, Gerardo Seoane’s team are still third-place in the table, just a point clear of fourth-placed opponents Hoffenheim.

The defeat in Frankfurt did see Bayer continue their superb run of form in front of goal though, as they have now scored at least two goals in three straight league matches. Striker Patrik Schick continued his recent hot form last time out by scoring a brace, which means he has scored six times in his last two league appearances.

Hoffenheim

The visitors have been one of the surprise packages of the Bundesliga campaign so far. A 2-1 win at another surprise-package Freiburg last time out was their fourth straight league win and moved them into the Champions League spots. Their attacking prowess has played a big part in those recent victories, as Die Kraichgauer has scored at least two goals in all four of those recent wins.

Hoffenheim have won just two of their last seven away games in the Bundesliga. However, those two wins were in their last two away matches at Greuther Furth and Freiburg.

Leverkusen look set to be without Julian Baumgartlinger and Timothy Fosu-Mensah through injuries. Meanwhile, Hoffenheim could be without Ermin Bicakcic, Marco John, Robert Skov, Florian Grillitsch, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Dennis Geiger due to injury and illness.
