Bayer Leverkusen vs Borussia Dortmund

BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Tuesday night, Bayer Leverkusen host Dortmund at the BayArena, in what could be a pivotal clash at the top end of the Bundesliga.
Things looked rosy for Leverkusen and head coach Peter Bosz a couple of weeks ago. However, results have taken a turn for the worst for the home side of late, as Die Werkself head into this game on the back of a four-game winless run in the German top-flight.
A 1-0 defeat at Union Berlin last time out also means that Bayer Leverkusen have lost three of their previous four matches in the Bundesliga. The recent poor run of form has seen Bayer slip seven points behind league leaders Bayern Munich. However, they are still third place, ahead of the visitors on goal difference.
The visitors head into this game on the back of a frustrating 1-1 home draw against struggling Mainz. BVB missed several good chances and will be determined to get back to winning ways in this clash.
The result against Mainz at least means that Edin Terzic’s team are now unbeaten in three league outings. With a seven-point gap to leaders Bayern, a title challenge seems unlikely this season, though.
Dortmund have a decent recent away record in the Bundesliga, as they have won five of their last seven league matches on their travels while suffering just one defeat in the process. The visitors have also failed to score in just one of their last 14 away matches in the German top-flight.
Bayer Leverkusen have several players who look set to miss out, including Sven Bender, Paulinho, Santiago Arias, Florian Wirtz, Exequiel Palacios, Mitchell Weiser and Karim Bellarabi.
Dortmund have injury problems of their own, as Axel Witsel, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marcel Schmelzer, Giovanni Reyna and Thorgan Hazard could all miss the clash. Emre Can is ruled out due to suspension.
