The above clip shows a spot kick being disallowed in the most absurd circumstances.As you can clearly see, the ball hits the back of the net.
The only problem is it keeps going through the net and out the other side…Now the players from Croatian second division team Sesvete know the ball went in, as do the opposition Dugopolje players.
It seems the only person who is confused by the whole thing is the only person who can make the decision that matters – the referee.And what makes the clip so startling is the fact that he had the best view in the house.
After the penalty ‘miss’ the aggrieved Sesvete players rally around the ref and try to make him see sense while Dugopolje collectively keep their heads down.
The final decision made by the man in the middle is just baffling – and the whole thing makes for really frustrating viewing.
