Petr Cech Signs For Guilford Phoenix!
Premier League legend and Ex-Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has signed for ice hockey team Guilford Phoenix!
Petr Cech joined the Premier League back in 2004 and had an amazing career. He won four Premier Leagues and three FA Cups as well as one Champions and Europa League trophy. The Czech goalkeeper played in over 440 games in the Premier League for Arsenal and Chelsea before retiring last season.
He has since gone back to Chelsea and took on the role as the Technical And Performance Advisor. It appeared as though this would be it for Cechs sporting days but he has since had a change of mind.
Since moving to England he became a fan of ice hockey side Guilford Phoenix. Cech was a huge ice hockey fan as a child and played as well. Obviously though when he became a professional footballer this had to stop.
However, recently Guilford Phoenix have been looking for a third choice goaltender and what better man to ask than Petr Cech. He has been able to sign for them due to having free time in his role at Chelsea.

Cech is set to make his debut for his new team this Sunday, whilst the Premier League is on international break. He will be hoping not to get injured so he can help his side get ready for their game against Newcastle next weekend.
Both of his previous playing sides have had mixed starts to the season. Chelsea started off with a 4-0 loss to Man United on the opening day of the season, whilst Arsenal have won just four out of their eight games.
Neither side look like they are capable of winning the league this year and this shows in Betfreds odds. Chelsea are at 80/1, whilst third placed Arsenal are at 100/1. However, no one would have said Cech would one day become an ice hockey player, so who knows!
