Lewandowski End’s ‘Drought’ With 30th Goal Of The Season

Lewandowski scored for the 30th time of the year of Saturday to end what people were referring to as his goal drought!

In my established Sunday league career I don’t think I managed 30 goals throughout the whole of it, never mind in half a season. Well, this is what the Bayern Munich striker has done. Even though his side hasn’t had the best of starts to the year, he is on fire.

Bayern has already lost four games in the league this season and drew three others. however, this hasn’t stopped Lewandowski finding the back of the net. In his first two games, he scored five goals which included a hat-trick against Schalke. This run carried on until the 9th November where he had managed to score in 11 successive games.

This sort of goal scoring form has helped Bayern climb back up the table. He then endured a ‘drought’ of three games without scoring. This ended though when he scored two against Wolfsburg and one against Freiburg midweek. This has taken his Bundesliga tally up to 19, making him the top scorer. It has also taken Bayern up to 3rd place in the table. They are four-point behind Leipzig and Monchengladbach and are the favourites to win the league still on Betway at 8/15.

Lewandowski’s season-best is 30 goals and in his time in Germany, he has won four golden boots. He will be looking to win a fifth and smash this record, come to the end of the season.

This came with only playing in five out of six matches and scoring in everyone. His best game was in-game week five where he scored four past Red Star Belgrade.
