Just four days before the start of Euro 2020, Phil Foden has got himself a new haircut, strikingly familiar to that of Paul Gascoigne in Euro ’96!
Phil Foden is having a fantastic year and is now a well-established name at Man City. He won the Premier League and League Cup this season and started in the final of the Champions League which he, unfortunately, didn’t win. To round of a fantastic season, he was named the Young PFA Player Of The Year.
Up next for Foden is Euro 2020, his first senior international tournament. He has played just six games but is expected to start this Sunday against Croatia. After being awarded his Young Player Of The Year, it appears he has celebrated by dying his hair bleach blonde. It is remarkably similar to that of Paul Gascoigne back in Euro ’96 and let’s hope he performs like Gazza!
At Euro ’96, as they will do this year, England take on Scotland. Shearer opened the scoring in the game before Gazza produced a moment of magic to score one of the greatest England goals of all time. He was on the edge of the Scotland box and flicked the ball over the oncoming Colin Hendry, before finishing it with his right foot on the volley. He proceeded to celebrate by lying on his back and having water squirted into his mouth, making a joke out of a recent headline about him in the papers!
If Foden can scoring a goal half as good as this one, it will be something special, lets just hope he doesn’t end up on the front page of the newspapers for the wrong reason!

A Summer To Remember For Foden?
Foden is one of the most exciting players in the world right now and is going to be a huge asset for England. He is priced at 7/2 to be the UEFA Best Young Player of the Tournament and given that he is looking like to be in Southgate’s starting 11 there is a good chance this could come in. Foden has shown he can potentially even go one better and be UEFA Best Player of the Tournament. This would be a huge achievement if he was too and that’s why it’s slightly higher at 20/1.
Foden scored 15 goals this season and has two goals in just six England games. He is at 50/1 to finish top goalscorer, but the amount of ability he has it is not out of reach!
