Mario Balotelli made the headlines again this weekend after he added a ridiculous red card to his long list of disciplinary issues
Balotelli had a history of causing trouble wherever he goes. Whether it be throwing darts at an academy player at Man City or letting off fireworks in his bathroom which set fire to his house. Wherever the Italian striker goes, drama always seems to follow.
This summer he joined his hometown club, Brescia from Marseille. Whilst at Marseille he made headlines by celebrating on Instagram live. Last year they were promoted from Serie B and in signing Balotelli they are hoping to stay up this season. He had to wait for four games until he could make his debut for the club. This was due to a four-match suspension he received at Marseille for a bad challenge…
Balotelli has scored five league goals this season, but Brescia are still struggling. They played Cagliari on the weekend who are in sixth place and having a good season. Brescia are in a relegation battle but are only two points away from getting out the bottom three. This shows just how important every point is and how influential any goal by Balotelli could be.
He came on, on Saturday when his side were 2-2 and there were 15 minutes to go. The game was end to end and the Brescia manager thought he could be the one to maybe get them a huge three points.
Unfortunately, it didn’t go that way and after just seven minutes he was sent off. He was yellow-carded for a high foot and then given a second one for arguing with the ref about the decision.
This was Balotelli’s 13th red card of his career. The Brescia owner has said that Balotelli is free to leave this month due to him not being cut out for a relegation fight.
