Atalanta vs PSG

Atalanta vs

On Wednesday night, Atalanta and PSG meet at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, as both teams look to book their place in the last four of the Champions League.

The team from Bergamo have enjoyed another stellar campaign, as Gian Piero Gasperini’s team finished fourth-place in Serie A, outscoring all their counterparts in the Italian top-flight. A defeat against Inter on the last gameweek of the season ended a 17-game unbeaten run for the Nerazzurri in Serie A.

Atalanta have also been in strong form in the Champions League of late, as they are unbeaten in five matches in the competition, having recorded four straight victories. In true Atalanta style, Gasperini’s team has scored at least two goals in all four of those recent victories.

Unsurprisingly, their Champions League games have been high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight matches in the competition.

The big-spending Parisians were once again crowned French champions after the Ligue One campaign was curtailed. Thomas Tuchel’s teams were well ahead of their nearest challengers in the French top-flight. Now, PSG will turn their attention to winning their first-ever Champions League.

The French giants have a strong recent record in Europe’s elite competition, winning six of their previous eight matches. Tuchel’s team defeated German team Dortmund 3-2 on aggregate to book their place in the last eight. Their recent European matches have been high-scoring, with more than two goals scored in five of their previous six games.

Team News

Atalanta are without first-choice goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini through injury. Defender Jose Luis Palomino will also miss out through injury, while Josip Illic is also struggling with fitness issues.

PSG look set to be without midfielder Marco Verratti through injury, while star striker Kylian Mbappe is a major fitness doubt.

Match Prediction

This is a hard one to predict, as both teams are strong and the tie could go either way. We predict that this game will end in a high-scoring draw.

Odds 11/4
