BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday afternoon, Milan host their city rivals Inter at the San Siro, in what could be the most important Derby della Madonnina in recent history in Serie A.
The Rossoneri’s return to the Serie A title race has been one of the biggest stories in the Italian game this season. Stefano Pioli’s team had been outstanding until recent weeks when their form has dipped slightly.
A shock 2-0 defeat at Spezia last time out was their second league defeat in four league outings. The defeat also means that they have won four and lost three of their last seven matches in the Italian top-flight. In the meantime, the visitors have leapfrogged them to the top of the table, but are still only a point clear in the race for the Scudetto.
The Rossoneri have won just four of their last nine league games at the San Siro, which may come back to haunt them in the title race.
The Nerazzurri will be happy to have gone above the home side in the table at the weekend courtesy of Milan’s slip-up. A 3-1 home win over Lazio last time out was the victory that moved Antonio Conte’s team to the top of the Serie A table.
The win was Inter’s fourth in their last five matches in the Italian top-flight. The visitors have been impressive at both ends of the pitch of late. Conte’s team have been potent in front of goal, scoring at least two goals in five of their last six league outings, while keeping clean sheets in four of their last five league matches.
Milan look set to bet without Ante Rebic, Daniel Maldini and Brahim Diaz due to injuries.
Inter’s only likely absentee is Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal, who could miss out due to a knee problem.
