West Ham v Arsenal
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
In the Premier League’s early kick-off on Saturday, West Ham host Arsenal in a potentially exciting London derby.
West Ham have been the absolute picture of inconsistency this season. However, the Hammers are still in the top half of the table despite winning just once in their last four league outings.
Last time out in the Premier League, the Hammers came back from two goals down to rescue a 2-2 draw at home against Brighton. The Irons recent league games have been relatively high scoring, as six of their last nine games have produced over 2.5 goals.
Just like their league form in general, West Ham’s recent home form in the top-flight has been inconsistent, as they have won two, lost two and drawn one of their last five league games on home soil.
Arsenal also heads into this clash in inconsistent form of late in the Premier League. The Gunners are fifth in the Premier League table, just two points behind fourth-place Chelsea. An inconsistent recent run of results has not helped the Gunners chances of a top-four finish.
Last time out in the league, Unai Emery’s side recorded a 4-1 victory at home against Fulham. The game was typically high scoring for the Gunners in the league of late, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five matches.
The visitors have a poor recent away record in the Premier League, having failed to win in four games on their travels. The Gunners recent away games in the top-flight have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in nine of their last ten matches.
West Ham have a relatively long injury list, with Ryan Fredericks, Winston Reid, Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko, Carlos Sanchez and Manuel Lanzini all set to miss out through injury. Javier Hernandez, Marko Arnautovic and Fabian Balbuena are also fitness doubts.
Arsenal are without Rob Holding, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Danny Welbeck through injury. Nacho Monreal, Laurent Koscielny, Hector Bellerin, Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi are also fitness doubts.
