Watford v Manchester United

On Saturday evening, in-form Watford host Manchester United in the Premier League, as the Hornets look to continue their stellar start to the season.

Watford have been one of the surprise packages of the Premier League campaign so far, winning all four of their top-flight games. Last time out the Hornets recorded a 2-1 home win over Tottenham.

The Hornets finished last season in poor style, so their good start to the Premier League campaign is an even bigger surprise. The last team to beat Watford in the top-flight were, in fact, United, who defeated the Hornets 1-0 on the final day of last season.

Vicarage Road has become a tough place to visit of late. In fact, The Hornets have recorded four straight league wins on home soil, while scoring at least two goals in each victory.

Manchester United have endured a mixed start to their Premier League campaign, having won two and lost two of their four league games. Last time out the Red Devils recorded a 2-0 win at Burnley after defeats against Brighton and Tottenham.

United have an inconsistent record since last season, as Jose Mourinho’s team have won three, lost three and drawn one of their last seven matches.

The visitor’s recent away form has also been inconsistent in the top-flight. However, the Red Devils have scored at least twice in five of their last seven outings on their travels.

Team News

Watford are without former Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley through injury, while winger Gerard Deulofeu continues to be a fitness doubt for the Hornets.

United will be without Luke Shaw due to a head injury he sustained playing for England, while striker Marcus Rashford is suspended following his red card at Burnley. Defenders Phil Jones, Diogo Dalot and Marcos Rojo all remain doubts for United.

Match Prediction

This game could be a truly fascinating one, as Watford will head into this game in high spirits. United have endured mixed fortunes so far but should be performing better in the top-flight. I can see this game ending in a draw, but in reality, it could go either way.
