Valencia v Sevilla

On Saturday afternoon, Valencia host Sevilla at the Mestalla, in one of the most interesting clashes in La Liga this weekend.

Valencia have endured a poor start to their La Liga campaign and currently sit 14th in the table. Last time out in the league, Los Ches suffered a 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid to end a mini winning run of two games.

Valencia’s recent league outings have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in ten of their last 11 games in La Liga.

Los Ches usually strong home form has even slipped of late in La Liga, as they have now won just one of their last seven league games at the Mestalla. However, Valencia have been kings of the home draw, with five of those aforementioned games finishing all square.

Just like their recent games in general, the home side’s home games in La Liga of late have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven matches.

Sevilla have enjoyed a stellar start their La Liga campaign and are second in the table, just a point behind league leaders and champions Barcelona.

The Andalucian’s are unbeaten in five matches in La Liga, having drawn 1-1 with Alaves in their last league outing. It was another relatively low scoring game for the visitors, as three of their last four league games have produced under 2.5 goals.

Pablo Machin’s side has failed to win in their last three away games while drawing their last two matches on their travels in the Spanish top-flight.

Team News

Valencia could be without Spanish international striker Rodrigo due to injury.

Sevilla look set to be without Jesus Navas, Aleix Vidal and midfielder Maxime Gonalons also due to injury.

Match Prediction

Valencia are likely to make this game very tight. However, I can see the visitors sneaking a victory in a low scoring match.
