Tottenham v Manchester United

On Sunday afternoon, Tottenham host Manchester United at Wembley, as two of the Premier League’s in-form teams go head-to-head.

Third-place Tottenham head into this game on the back of six wins from their last seven Premier League matches. Last time out in the top-flight, Spurs recorded a 3-0 win at Cardiff.

The home side’s stellar form of late has been largely due to their attacking prowess, as they have scored at least three goals in three of their last four league outings. Mauricio Pochettino’s team has also failed to score in just one of their last 23 league matches.

Tottenham’s recent home form has been strong in the league. However, a 3-1 home defeat against Wolves in their last home match ended a four-game winning run on home soil for the team from north London.

Manchester United have hit form since the appointment of former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim boss. The Norwegian has guided the Red Devils to four straight league wins.

A key to United’s turnaround in form of late has been their forward players hitting form, as the visitors have scored at least two goals in all four of their wins under their temporary boss.

United’s recent away form in the Premier League has not been great. However, they have won both of their away matches under Solskjaer in the Premier League thus far.

Team News

Tottenham will be without Victor Wanyama due to injury, while Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen, Lucas Moura and Mousa Dembele are also fitness doubts. Heung-Min Son plays his last game before heading off to the Asia Cup with his national side.

Manchester United are without centre-back Eric Bailly due to suspension, while Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling, Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba are also doubts, although the latter pair are expected to feature in the squad.

Match Prediction

This is the biggest test of Solskjaer’s United reign so far and I expect the home side to record a victory in a high scoring affair.
