Tottenham v Manchester City
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
Tottenham host Manchester City on Saturday night in the Premier League, as the visitors look to move closer to winning the title.
Tottenham are fourth place in the Premier League table, ten points clear of fifth-place Chelsea in the race for a Champions League spot. Mauricio Pochettino’s side will now be looking to seal a top-three finish to avoid a play-off.
Spurs are unbeaten in 14 Premier League outings, having won their last six games in the English top-flight.
A key factor in the home side’s recent good form has been their attacking prowess, as the north London side have now scored two or more goals in their last four league outings, including last time out when Pochettino’s team won 2-1 at relegation-threatened Stoke.
Tottenham are also unbeaten on home soil in their last 13 home games in the top-flight, having recorded four straight victories, without conceding a goal.
Manchester City have experienced a terrible week suffering two Champions League defeats against Liverpool, with a 3-2 derby defeat against Manchester United in the Premier League sandwiched in-between.
City threw away the chance to seal the title against United last weekend. The Citizens can now only now win the title this weekend if United suffer an unexpected defeat against rock-bottom West Brom at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Prior to last weekend’s defeat against United, the Citizens had recorded five straight Premier League wins, while scoring two or more goals in four of the five wins. Pep Guardiola’s side has also won their last three away games in the top-flight.
Tottenham’s only likely absentee is midfielder Harry Winks, who is suffering from an ankle problem. For City, full-back Benjamin Mendy remains sidelined through injury, while midfielder Fernandinho is suspended.
