SPAL v AC Milan
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday night, SPAL host Champions League-chasing AC Milan in Serie A, as the Rossoneri look for a return to Europe’s elite competition next season.
SPAL have enjoyed a solid campaign in Serie A and could finish as high as tenth in the table if they win and Sassuolo loses at Atalanta. The home side’s recent record in Serie A is inconsistent, but they have lost their last two league matches against Napoli and Udinese.
The home sides recent league outings have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven Serie A outings.
SPAL has a poor recent home record in Serie A, having won just three of their last 16 league matches on their own patch. Although their recent home matches in Serie A have not necessarily been high scoring, both teams have scored in six of their last seven home league matches.
AC Milan are currently fifth in Serie A, a point behind both third-place Atalanta and fourth place arch-rivals Inter. Gennaro Gattuso’s side has won their last three league outings against Bologna, Fiorentina and last time out Frosinone.
Milan’s recent matches in the Italian top-flight have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six league outings.
The Rossoneri ended a four-game winless run on their travels in Serie A last time out by recording a 1-0 win over Fiorentina. Just like their recent league games in general, Milan’s away matches of late have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals in their last five games on their travels.
SPAL look set to be without injured pair Felipe and Simone Missiroli. Meanwhile, for AC Milan Lucas Paqueta is suspended, while Ivan Strinic, Davide Calabria, Giacomo Bonaventura and Mattia Caldara all look set to miss out due to injury.
