Southampton v Burnley – Betting & Match Preview
On Sunday Southampton host Burnley at St Marys Stadium in the Premier League, as the home side looks to extend their unbeaten run in the top-flight.
The Saints are now six games unbeaten in all competitions following last weekend’s goalless draw at champions Leicester City. The game was a tight affair, but the Saints at least managed to keep a clean sheet for a sixth consecutive game in all competitions.
Claude Puel’s side will be looking to move up the table. However, the team from the south coast need to be more dynamic in attack, having failed to find the net in consecutive matches.
Prior to those goalless draws, striker Charlie Austin had struck five times in his previous four appearances for the Saints and will hope to get back to scoring ways in this clash.
Burnley were highly unlucky to lose 1-0 at home against Arsenal last time out. The Gunners goal came with virtually the last kick of the game, as Arsenal centre-back, Laurent Koscielny appeared to have bundled the ball over the line with his arm.
It was a terrible blow to the Clarets, who have now won just two of their first seven games in the top-flight. If Southampton can find their attacking verve then this could be another difficult clash for Sean Dyche’s team.
