Real Sociedad v Barcelona
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday afternoon, Real Sociedad host La Liga leaders Barcelona at the Reale Arena, in one of the games of the weekend in the Spanish top-flight.
La Real are fourth place in the table and enjoying a solid campaign in La Liga so far. Despite their lofty position in the table, the team from San Sebastian are seven points behind the Catalan giants, who also have a game in-hand.
Imanol Alguacil’s team have been inconsistent of late in La Liga, as a goalless draw with Real Valladolid last time out means that the home side has won just one of their last four league games.
Sociedad’s recent form on home soil in the Spanish top-flight has also been patchy, as they have won just two of their last five outings at the Reale Arena.
Barcelona heads into this clash on a good run of form, but the Blaugrana are level on points with arch-rivals Real Madrid. A run of four straight league wins has kept Ernesto Valverde’s team ahead of their rivals from the capital.
Unsurprisingly considering the attacking players available to the visitors, seven of Barcelona’s last eight league games have produced over 2.5 goals.
The visitors have been relatively strong on their travels of late in La Liga, winning four of their last five away games in the Spanish top-flight.
Barcelona have also won their last seven games against Real Sociedad in all competitions. On current form, they will be confident of continuing that run in this clash.
Real Sociedad will be without Robin Le Normand due to suspension, while David Zurutuza, Ruben Pardo and Asier Illarramendi look set to miss out to due to injury.
Barcelona are expected to be without Jordi Alba, Arthur, Ansu Fati, Nelson Semedo and Ousmane Dembele through injury.
