The home side’s prowess in front of goal has contributed to their being over 2.5 goals scored in ten of their last 11 league games at the Bernabeu.
Girona have been outstanding this season. The minnows currently occupy seventh spot in La Liga, just a point behind Villarreal who occupy the last European spot.
Pablo Machin’s team have been on a good run recently, winning four of their last five La Liga games, with the exception a hammering at league leaders Barcelona.
The visitors have built their success this season on clean sheets, recording four clean sheets in their last five outings in La Liga. One negative for Girona of late in La Liga is that they have won just one of their last seven away games, suffering four defeats in the process.
Real Madrid has no reported injury problems heading into this clash. For the visitors, Pedro Alcala, Gorka Iraizoz and Carles Planas look set to miss out due to injury.
