Real Betis v Sevilla
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday night, Real Betis host Sevilla at the Estadio Benito Villamarin in a Seville derby that could have implications at both ends of La Liga.
Real Betis have made a poor start to their La Liga campaign and are currently 15th in the table, having picked up just 13 points from their opening 12 matches in the Spanish top-flight.
Rubi’s team has won just one of their last six league matches. However, there have been signs that things might be on the up of late, as the home side has taken four points from their last two matches. Last time out, Betis recorded a highly creditable goalless draw at Real Madrid.
Betis’ recent home form has been moving in the right direction too, as they are unbeaten in five matches in the Spanish top-flight. Both teams have scored in Real Betis’ last 13 home matches in the league.
Sevilla are currently fifth place in the table, but just a point behind leaders Barcelona in a congested La Liga top-six. Julen Lopetegui’s side heads into this derby on the back of a four-game unbeaten run in the Spanish top-flight. However, the visitors have been held to back-to-back 1-1 draws against Valencia and last time out Atletico Madrid.
Sevilla’s recent away record is poor, as they have failed to win in three away matches in the Spanish top-flight, suffering two defeats in the process. Their recent away games in La Liga have been relatively low-scoring, with five of their last seven matches producing under 2.5 goals.
Real Betis look set to be without Javi Garcia, Wilfrid Kaptoum, William Carvalho, Dani Martín and Juanmi due to injury. Sevilla’s only likely absentee is defender Daniel Carrico, due to an ankle problem.
