Real Betis v Barcelona
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday night, Real Betis and Barcelona clash at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, in a big game in the race for the Spanish title and fourth spot.
Real Betis are just one point outside the European spots in the Spanish top-flight after an inconsistent recent run of form. A 1-0 win at Celta Vigo last time out means that the Andalusian’s have won two of their last three league matches.
The home sides recent La Liga matches have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven games in the Spanish top-flight.
Just like their league form in general, Betis’ recent home form has been inconsistent. In fact, Quique Setien’s team has won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six league games on home soil.
Barcelona remain seven points clear of second place Atletico Madrid at the top of the Spanish top-flight table. A 3-1 home win over Rayo Vallecano means that the reigning champions have now recorded four straight league victories.
One key factor in the home sides recent good form has been their attacking prowess, as the Catalan giants have scored at least two goals in 11 of their last 14 league matches.
The reigning La Liga champions are unbeaten in ten away games in the Spanish top-flight, recording seven wins in the process. Just as in their general La Liga games, the visitors have been prolific on their travels of late, scoring at least two goals in five of their last seven matches.
Real Betis look set to be without full-backs Antonio Barragan and Junior Firpo due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are likely to be without centre-back Thomas Vermaelen and midfielder Rafinha due to injuries.
