In a time when everyone is being asked to be kind and caring, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have been helping out those in need
With no football on currently due to the season being suspended, managers have a lot of time on their hands. A lot of them are following the guidelines of staying in and only going out if you have to.
There are exemptions to these rules, however. Jose Mourinho has recently been seen helping out Enfield. He joined Age UK and Feed You DoorStep to deliver food packages to vulnerable people. This will help them massively as not only is it an extra pair of hands but also increases exposure to the company and their effort to raise £10 million to fight the virus.
Pep Guardiola has also recently just donated €1 million to the Medical College of Barcelona. He is currently back at his home in Barcelona and the money will go to funding new equipment for patients and doctors.
They aren’t the only high profile people in world football to help out this week. Ronaldo, Messi and Lewandowski have also donated €1 million each. The donations are going to hospitals around Europe.
How Can You Help Through Football?
Leyton Orient last week set up the Ultimate QuaranTeam competition. This is a FIFA 20 tournament between professional football clubs. The clubs are represented by a variety of fans, professional footballers and E-Sports players.
Originally there were 128 teams in and now they are down to 64. The hosts, Leyton Orient, were knocked out in the first round. Each club can pick whoever they want to play as and it is only on the PS4. The final of the competition is on April 3rd.
Fans can donate to various pages associated with the Ultimate QuartanTeam with the money going to keeping the lower clubs alive and fighting the coronavirus.
To make it even more entertaining, Paddy Power have odds on who will win. These are changing all the time with games being played over the week.
