Nice v Lyon
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
In what promises to be one of the games of the weekend in Ligue One, Nice host Lyon at the Allianz Riviera.
Nice are currently eighth in Ligue One but are just three points away from Saint Etienne, who occupy the last European spot in the French top-flight.
Their hopes of landing a European spot this season have been plagued by an inconsistent run of form that has seen Patrick Vieira’s team record just two wins in their last nine league games. The home side has drawn five of those aforementioned nine games, though. Last time out in Ligue One, Nice suffered a 4-0 defeat at high flying Lille.
The home side’s recent Ligue One games have been incredibly low scoring, as 14 of their last 15 league matches have produced under 2.5 goals.
Nice are unbeaten in six home games in the French top-flight, having recorded four wins in the process. Unsurprising, their last seven home games in the league have produced under 2.5 goals.
Lyon heads into this game on the back of a seven-game unbeaten run in Ligue One, including recording a 2-1 home win over champions and league leaders PSG in their last league outing. The win over the Parisians was OL’s third straight victory in the French top-flight.
The visitors have been relatively prolific of late in the French top-flight, scoring at least two goals in three of their last four games.
Lyon are seven games unbeaten on their travels in Ligue One, recording four wins and picking up three draws. OL’s recent away games have been high scoring too, with over 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last ten matches on their travels in the French top-flight.
Nice have no reported injuries heading into this potentially crucial clash.
Lyon’s only likely absentee through remains Amine Gouiri, who is recovering from a long-term injury.
