On Saturday night, Serie A leaders Napoli host Lazio at the Stadio San Paolo, in one of the games of the weekend in the Italian top-flight.
Napoli currently top Serie A but are only ahead of reigning champions Juventus by a point. The Bianconeri are playing on Friday night against Fiorentina, so Maurizio Sarri’s team could be second by the time this game kicks off.
The men from Naples have been impressive in the Italian top-flight of late. Sarri’s side have recorded seven straight league victories and have suffered just one league defeat in 35 outings in Serie A.
The home side have been prolific of late in the Italian top-flight, scoring two or more goals in five of their last seven league outings. The league leaders have won their last three league games on home soil, scoring two or more goals in all three victories.
Lazio are third-place in the Serie A table but have suffered consecutive league defeats against AC Milan and last time out Genoa.
The visitor’s recent Serie A games have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last five outings in the league.
Simone Inzaghi’s side have a mixed away record in Serie A of late, winning two, drawing two and losing two of their last six league games on their travels. Their away games have been very high scoring in Serie A, as 16 of their last 17 away games in Serie A have produced over 2.5 goals.
Napoli are expected to be without full-back Faouzi Ghoulam due to injury. Lazio will be without the suspended Mauricio, while Wallace, Filip Djordjevic and Davide de Gennaro could miss out due to injury.
