Monchengladbach v Bayern Munich
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday afternoon, Bundesliga leaders Monchengladbach host reigning champions Bayern Munich, in a massive game in the German top-flight.
Monchengladbach are a point clear of second-place RB Leipzig and four points clear of the fourth-place visitors. The Foals have now won four of their last five games in the Bundesliga. Last time out, Gladbach recorded a 4-2 win over surprise-package Freiburg.
The win over Freiburg saw Marco Rose’s team score at least two goals for the seventh game in their last nine Bundesliga matches. The home side has been simply deadly in front of goal.
The Foals have suddenly become formidable opponents on home soil in the Bundesliga, as they have recorded five straight matches at Borussia Park. Gladbach’s attacking threat has shone through on home soil of late too, as they have scored at least two goals in their five straight home victories.
Bayern Munich’s revival under interim head coach Hans-Dieter Flick came to an end last time out, as the Bavarians suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home against Bayer Leverkusen. The defeat ended a four-game winning run for Bayern under their temporary coach.
The loss against Bayer also means that Die Bayern have won just three of their last seven matches in the German top-flight, suffering three defeats in the process.
The reigning champions also have a highly inconsistent recent away record in the Bundesliga, winning just three of their last eight matches on their travels.
One major positive for Bayern has been the relentless scoring form of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 16 times in just 13 appearances in the German top-flight.
Monchengladbach look set to be without Matthias Gunter, Andreas Poulsen and Torben Musel due to injuries.
Bayern look set to be without Fiete Arp, Lucas Hernandez and Nicklas Sule also due to injuries.
