Manchester United v Tottenham
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Wednesday night, Manchester United host Tottenham at Old Trafford, as former United boss Jose Mourinho looks for a victory over his old team in the Premier League.
Manchester United are in the midst of a mediocre season so far. The Red Devils are currently ninth-place in the Premier League table, eight points outside the top-six. However, a victory on Wednesday night would see United move above fifth-place Tottenham in the table.
The problem for United of late is that victories have been hard to come by, as they have recorded just one Premier League win in four games. They are, however, unbeaten in three top-flight games, but have drawn their last two matches against Sheffield United and last time out Aston Villa.
United are unbeaten in five league matches at Old Trafford but have won just three of their last ten matches on home soil in the top-flight.
Mourinho’s arrival has rejuvenated Tottenham, as the team from north London have won all three games under the Portuguese boss, including both of their Premier League matches. Spurs have scored at least three goals in all three of Mourinho’s games. However, on the flip-side, they have also conceded at least two goals in all three outings too.
The two straight league wins have moved Spurs to within six points of fourth-place Chelsea, as the Blues have slipped up in recent weeks.
A 3-2 win at West Ham in their last away game ended a 12-game winless run on their travels for Spurs in the Premier League. However, they have still conceded at least two goals in ten of their last 13 away games in the English top-flight.
Manchester United are without Eric Bailly, Paul Pogba, Marcos Rojo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah due to injury. Meanwhile, Scott McTominay, Diogo Dalot and Nemanja Matic are also fitness doubts.
For Tottenham, Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm, Ben Davies and Erik Lamela all miss out due to injury.
