Manchester City v West Ham
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday afternoon, reigning Premier League champions Manchester City host relegation-threatened West Ham at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City look set to be dethroned as Premier League champions this season after a 2-0 defeat Tottenham last time out saw Pep Guardiola’s team slip 18 points behind league leaders Liverpool.
With the Citizens now seemingly too far adrift to catch the Merseysiders this season, Guardiola’s team need to remain focussed to make sure their season does not fall apart.
Their recent form in the top-flight has been inconsistent in truth, as they have won just four of their last seven league outings.
Even their usually formidable home form has slipped of late in the Premier League, as City have claimed just three wins from their last five home matches, which by their recent high standards is a poor run.
West Ham look to be in big trouble at the bottom end of the Premier League table. The Hammers occupy the last relegation spot after throwing away a 3-1 lead at home against Brighton to draw 3-3. All is not lost for David Moyes side, though, as they are just a point from safety.
The draw with the Seagulls last time out means that the visitors are now five games without a top-flight win, three of which they have lost.
The Irons have been poor on their travels of late in the Premier League, losing six of their last eight away games, including their last three league matches on the road.
Manchester City will be without the suspended Oleksandr Zinchenko after his red card at Tottenham last time out. Winger Leroy Sane is still sidelined due to injury, while there are fitness doubts over Benjamin Mendy, Aymeric Laporte and Raheem Sterling.
For West Ham, Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere and Felipe Anderson will miss out due to injury. New signing Jarrod Bowen will be hoping to make his first start for the visitors.
