BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool host Chelsea at Anfield in a game that could be critical in the race for the Premier League title.
Liverpool are currently two points above reigning English champions Manchester City in the table. Jurgen Klopp’s team has now recorded four straight victories in the Premier League, scoring at least two goals in all four matches. Last time out in the Premier League, the Reds recorded a 3-1 win at Southampton.
A key factor in Liverpool’s excellent season has been their home form. The home side are now unbeaten in 37 league matches at Anfield, having won their last four league outings on home soil. They have also been prolific at home, finding the net at least twice in their last four league outings.
Chelsea are currently third place in the table, two points above fourth-place Tottenham and three points above Arsenal in fifth. However, both have played a game fewer than the Blues.
Maurizio Sarri’s team has hit form of late in the Premier League, winning their last three league outings, while also scoring at least two goals in each victory. Last time out, the visitors recorded a 2-0 win over West Ham, as Eden Hazard grabbed a brace.
Chelsea have struggled for form on their travels of late in the Premier League, losing four of their last six away games in the top-flight. The Blues also conceded at least two goals in all four defeats. However, the visitors recorded a 2-1 win at Cardiff in their last away game in the Premier League.
Liverpool have a near fully-fit squad heading into this clash. The Reds only likely absentee is midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is still recovering from injury. Adam Lallana is also a fitness doubt.
Chelsea have just one injury doubt in Spanish full-back Marcos Alonso. If he fails to recover Emerson Palmieri will likely to continue at left-back.
