Lille v PSG
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday night, PSG visits Lille, as the visitors look for the result that will officially confirm the retention of their Ligue One crown.
Lille have been one of the stories of the Ligue One campaign. They have done well to maintain their position in second place, but in reality, were never going to challenge PSG for the title.
The home side’s priority is now consolidating their position in Ligue One’s Champions League spots. Christophe Gaultier’s side are 11 points clear of Saint Etienne, who occupy fourth place, so a top-three finish now seems highly likely for Lille.
Lille have a patchy recent record on home soil in the French top-flight. However, they have kept clean sheets in three of their last four home games in Ligue One.
PSG currently top Ligue One by 20 points ahead of the second-placed visitors. The reigning French champions only need a draw in this clash to win the title mathematically. In reality, the big-spending club from the capital has had the title tied up for months.
Thomas Tuchel’s team has been in good form of late in Ligue One. A 2-2 draw last time out against Strasbourg ended an eight-game winning run for the Parisians in the French top-flight. The result last time out means that PSG have now scored at least two goals in six of their last seven league matches.
PSG have won their last four straight away games in Ligue One while keeping clean sheets in three of those away wins.
Lille have a fully-fit squad for this big clash.
However, it is a different story for the visitors, who look set to be without a number of key players due to injury, including Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, Thomas Meunier and of course Brazilian superstar Neymar.
