Juventus v AC Milan

Juventus v AC Milan

On Sunday night, Juventus host AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium, as the home side look to maintain their narrow lead at the top of Serie A.

The Bianconeri are currently leading second-place Inter by just a point. With the Nerazzurri playing earlier in the weekend, the reigning champions could be kicking off this game in second place.

Maurizio Sarri’s team heads into this clash on the back of seven wins in their last eight Serie A matches. Last time out they recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Torino in the Turin derby. The victory was a hard-fought one though.

Juventus are formidable opponents at the Allianz Stadium, as they are unbeaten in 26 home matches in the Italian top-flight, winning their last five matches and scoring at least two goals in each victory.

Milan have endured a difficult start to their Serie A campaign. The Rossoneri are currently 11th place in the table, having picked up just 13 points from their first 11 league games of the season. A change of boss in the shape of Stefan Pioli has done little to improve results, as Milan suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Lazio last time out.

The defeat means that the visitors have lost five of their last eight matches in the Italian top-flight.

Milan have a mixed recent record on their travels, as they have won two and lost three of their last five away games in Serie A.

Juventus look set to be without some key players including Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt through injury. Marko Pjaca and Mattia Perrin are expected to miss out due to injury too. Milan are likely to be without the injured Suso and Mateo Musacchio.

Match Prediction

Juventus have won the last eight meetings with Milan and I do not expect them to buck that trend in this clash. However, I think it will be a relatively low-scoring, tight encounter.
