Inter v Roma

Inter Team Talk

On Friday night, Inter host Roma at the Giuseppe Meazza, as the home team look to stretch their lead at the top of Serie A.

Inter are currently a point clear of reigning champions Juventus, who are in second-place. Another win here would pile the pressure on Maurizio Sarri’s team.

Antonio Conte’s team have been in stellar form so far this season and have now won their last five league games, scoring at least two goals in each victory. In fact, the prolific Nerazzurri have now scored at least twice in their last seven league matches after a 2-1 win over SPAL.

Inter’s home form has not been that good of late, as they have won just two of their last four home games in Serie A. However, they have recorded wins in their last two matches on home soil.

Roma head into this game in fifth position in the Italian top-flight table, nine points behind the home side after a decent campaign so far.

Paulo Fonseca’s team have won five of their previous six matches in Serie A while scoring at least twice in all five wins. Last time out, the Giallorossi won 3-1 at Verona.

The victory at Verona means that Roma have lost just one of their previous 11 away games in the Italian top-flight. Their recent away matches have been relatively low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last 11 games on their travels in Serie A.

Inter look set to be without Alexis Sanchez, Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella due to injuries.

Roma have a few more likely absentees, with Javier Pastore, Justin Kluivert, Antonio Mirante, Bryan Cristante and Davide Zappacosta all likely to miss out due to injuries.

Match Prediction

Roma will not be easy opponents for Inter, as they are in decent form. However, Inter have built up such momentum that I believe it will be enough for the Nerazzurri to secure another crucial victory.
