Dortmund v Bayern Munich

On Saturday evening, one of the highlights of the Bundesliga campaign takes place, as Dortmund host arch-rivals Bayern Munich at the Signal Iduna Park.

Dortmund have made a bright start to life under boss Lucien Favre and currently sit at the top of the Bundesliga table, four points clear of the visitors.

BVB are unbeaten this season in the German top-flight, having recorded seven wins and three draws. The home side has also won five of their last six Bundesliga games.

A big factor in BVB’s recent good form has been their attacking threat, as they have now scored at least two goals in five of their last six outings in the German top-flight.

Dortmund’s home form has also played its part in BVB’s position this season, as they have now won eight of their last ten home games in the Bundesliga.

Unlike their opponents, Bayern Munich have made a mixed start to the campaign under a new boss in the shape of Niko Kovac. The Bavarians are currently third place in the table. Wins against Wolfsburg and Mainz looked to have the visitors back on track.

However, a 1-1 home draw with Freiburg last time out has rather hindered their recovery in the German top-flight. One problem for Bayern this season has been their defensive solidity, as the reigning champions have failed to keep a clean sheet in six league games.

Despite talk of a crisis at Bayern, the visitors have won seven of their last eight games on their travels in the Bundesliga. They have also scored at least two goals in all seven victories.

Team news

Dortmund look set to be without defenders Marcel Schmelzer and Abdou Diallo due to injury. Bayern look set to be without Thiago, Corentin Tolisso and Kingsley Coman due to injury.

Match Prediction

This clash is so difficult to predict. I can see a tight game and not much between the sides ending a draw.
