Dortmund v Eintracht Frankfurt
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Friday night, Dortmund host Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park in a game that is must-win for the home side in terms of winning the Bundesliga title this season.
Dortmund head into this clash on the back of a gut-wrenching 4-3 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen. BVB threw away a 3-2 lead in the second half to lose the game at the BayArena.
However, due to top teams Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig drawing, Lucien Favre’s team are still only four points behind reigning champions Bayern at the top of the table.
When it comes to entertainment and goals, Dortmund are certainly the team to follow in the Bundesliga. BVB have scored at least twice in nine of their last ten league outings.
Favre’s team are unbeaten in 11 home games in the Bundesliga, having recorded a creditable eight victories. The home side has also scored at least three goals in their last six league matches at Signal Iduna Park.
Eintracht Frankfurt seems to have rediscovered their form in the Bundesliga of late. A 5-0 mauling of Augsburg last time out means that Adi Hutter’s team has now won three of their last four league games while drawing the other match.
A return to goalscoring ways has been key to the visitor’s recent revival, as they have scored at least two goals in all three of their recent league wins.
Despite an upturn in general fortunes of late, Frankfurt have a poor away record, losing five of their last seven Bundesliga games on the road.
The fact that the visitors have taken four points from a possible six in their last two away matches may suggest that their fortunes on the road may just be turning around.
Julian Brandt looks set to join Marco Reus and Thomas Delaney in missing this clash for Dortmund.
The visitors could be without Marco Russ, Bas Dost, Lucas Torro and Gelson Fernandes due to injury and illness.
