Croatia v Wales
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday afternoon, Croatia host Wales at the Stadion Gradski, in Group E of qualifying for Euro 2020.
Croatia head into this potentially crucial qualifier for Euro 2020 on the back of two defeats in their last three international outings. The home sides recent record in qualifying for the European Championships is a mixed one too.
They have started their qualifying campaign for next years finals with a 2-1 win over Azerbaijan before a surprise 2-1 defeat in Hungary in their last outing. Their mixed start to the group means that Zlatko Dalic’s team are third in the group. However, they are one of four teams in Group E to have collected three points from their two qualifiers.
Croatia have never suffered a home defeat in 32 European Championship qualifiers, recording an impressive 24 wins in the process. A key to their recent good form on home soil is their attacking displays, as they have scored at least two goals in five of their last six qualifiers on home soil.
Like their hosts, Wales have enjoyed mixed fortunes of late in the international game, although they have won their only game in Group E. Ryan Giggs’ team has won two and lost two of their last four matches. However, the Dragons have won back to back games against Trinidad and Tobago and Slovakia.
Wales have a strong recent record in qualification for the European Championships, winning five of their last seven qualifiers while suffering just one defeat. The Dragons have also kept an impressive seven clean sheets in their last eight qualifiers.
Croatia have a major injury list heading into this clash. Ante Rebic, Nikola Vlasic, Ivan Rakitic, Marko Rog and Filip Bradaric will all miss out through injury. Meanwhile, Wales only reported absentee is midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who will miss out to injury.
