Chelsea v Leicester
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday afternoon, Chelsea host Leicester at Stamford Bridge, in an intriguing Premier League clash.
Chelsea kicked off their Premier League in disastrous fashion by suffering a 4-0 defeat at Manchester United. The result was slightly misleading, though, as the Blues did enjoy good spells during the clash.
The defeat means that the Blues have now won just one of their last six Premier League games. Like many other English teams, European commitments proved a distraction for the team from south west London in the final few weeks of last season.
Despite that aforementioned poor run of results towards the end of last season, the Blues have maintained a strong home record in the top-flight. In fact, they are unbeaten in nine league games on home soil, having recorded six wins in the process.
A key to that good home form was solid defensive displays, as the Blues have kept clean sheets in five of their last seven league matches at Stamford Bridge.
Leicester were billed as a team that could potentially break into the Premier League top-six. However, the Foxes opened their campaign with an uninspiring goalless draw against Midlands rivals Wolves.
The draw means that Brendan Rodgers team have recorded just one win in their last six league matches dating back to April.
The visitors away form towards the end of last season was not great either, as they won just twice in eight matches on their travels in the top-flight. The Foxes also failed to keep a clean sheet in that eight-game run of fixtures.
Chelsea are without highly-rated youngsters Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi due to injury, while Antonio Rudiger, Willian and Reece James are also injury doubts. Leicester have a doubt over the fitness of Nampalys Mendy.
