BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Saturday evening, Bayern Munich host Schalke at the Allianz Arena in one of the big games of the Bundesliga weekend.
Bayern Munich are in their perennial position at the top of the Bundesliga table, an incredible 18 points clear of second place Bayer Leverkusen. Last time out, Jupp Heynckes side recorded a 2-0 win at Mainz to maintain their more than healthy lead at the top of the table.
The Bavarian giants have won their last eight league games in the German top-flight, while also scoring two or more goals in their last four league victories.
Bayern have won their last seven Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena, while also scoring two or more goals in ten of their last 11 league games on home soil.
Schalke are enjoying a strong season and currently sit fifth in the Bundesliga table. However, the visitors are only outside the top-four courtesy of an inferior goal difference to fourth-place Dortmund.
Domenico Tedesco’s side have hit a rough patch of late in the German top-flight, winning just one of their last five games in the Bundesliga. Last time out in the league, the visitors suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against Werder Bremen.
Schalke’s recent away record in the German top-flight is mixed, as they have won just one of their last five games on their travels in the Bundesliga. However, the one win came in their last away game, in a 2-0 win at Stuttgart.
Bayern could be without Thomas Muller, Arturo Vidal, Javi Martinez, Manuel Neuer and Thiago through injury. Schalke are without Matija Nastasic through suspension, while Westin McKennie and Pablo Insua look set to miss out through injury.
