Bayern Munich v RB Leipzig
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday evening, two of the leading teams in the Bundesliga’s title race go head-to-head at the Allianz Arena, as Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig.
Reigning champions Bayern Munich returned to the top of the Bundesliga table last weekend, as Hansi Flick’s team recorded a 3-1 win at Mainz. The victory means that the Bavarian giants have won their last six league games, while also scoring at least twice in all six victories.
Despite their recent good form, Bayern are still only a point clear of the visitors, who occupy second place and just three clear of Dortmund who sit in fourth place in the German top-flight table, with Monchengladbach sandwiched in between.
The home side has a strong recent record on home soil too, as they have won five of their last six Bundesliga matches at the Allianz Arena, while scoring at least two goals in each win.
RB Leipzig saw Bayern leapfrog them to the top of the table last weekend when Monchengladbach held Die Roten Bullen to a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Red Bull Arena.
The draw against Gladbach means that Julian Nagelsmann’s team have picked up just a point from a possible six in the Bundesliga. Despite a small drop in league form of late, the home team has still managed to score at least two goals in ten of their last 11 Bundesliga matches.
Leipzig’s recent away form in the German top-flight has been inconsistent, as they have won just three of their last seven league matches on their travels.
Bayern Munich look set to be without centre-back Niklas Sule and Javi Martinez due to injury. RB Leipzig are likely to be without Kevin Kampl, Ibrahima Konate and Willi Orban through injury.
