Bayern Munich v Bayer Leverkusen

On Saturday afternoon, Bayern Munich host Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena, as the home side look to continue their perfect record in the Bundesliga so far this season.

Reigning German champions Bayern have played two and won two so far in the top-flight. Last time out in the Bundesliga the Bavarian side hammered Stuttgart 3-0 on their own patch.

Bayern have just continued where they left off from last season, as Die Roten have now won eight of their last nine Bundesliga games. The home side has also been lethal in front of goal of late, scoring three or more goals in eight of those nine aforementioned games.

The champions home form in the Bundesliga is also highly impressive as they have won 13 of their last 15 games at the Allianz Arena, scoring at least twice in 12 of those 13 wins.

Bayer Leverkusen have enjoyed a poor start to their Bundesliga campaign, losing both of their games against Monchengladbach and last time out Wolfsburg. It has been a terrible start to the campaign for a team more accustomed to the top end of the table than the bottom.

The visitors form drifted towards the end of last season, as they have now suffered four defeats in six Bundesliga outings.

Bayer’s away form has also been poor of late too, as the visitors have won just one of their last six league games on their travels.

Team News

Bayern are expected to be without French international Kingsley Coman due to injury. The visitors also have a few likely injury absentees in Joel Pohjanpalo, Panagiotis Retsos and Julian Baumgartlinger.

Match Prediction

This game has goals written all over it. Bayern are like a juggernaut in attack at times, while Bayer Leverkusen have looked vulnerable in defence this season. I can see Bayern recording a victory in an entertaining encounter.
