Atalanta v Napoli
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday afternoon, Atalanta host Serie A leaders Napoli at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia, as the visitors look to maintain their position at the top of the table.
Atalanta’s form in Serie A has improved in recent months and the side from Bergamo are now just below the European spots in the Italian top-flight. If results go their way this weekend, Giampiero Gasperini’s side could be in the Europa League play-off spot.
Last time out, the home side pulled off a surprise 2-1 win against Roma in the Stadio Olimpico. Atalanta once again scored two or more goals in a Serie A game, something they have now achieved in four of their last five outings in the Italian top-flight.
The home side’s recent home form has been inconsistent in Serie A, although they have suffered just one defeat in their last nine league games on home soil. Gasperini’s side has a history of beating the leaders, recently recording a 2-1 win in Naples in the Coppa Italia.
Napoli are one point clear at the top of the table, having won their last four Serie A games. In fact, the visitors have lost just one of their last 32 outings in the Italian top-flight.
Rather unusually for the Maurizio Sarri’s team this season, their recent league games have been relatively low scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven outings.
The visitors have a very strong away record, winning 18 of their last 20 games on their travels in Serie A, including their last three.
Atalanta are without midfielder Martin De Roon, who is serving a suspension. The visitors are still without long-term injury casualty’s striker Arkadiusz Milik and full-back Faouzi Ghoulam.
