AC Milan v Fiorentina
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
On Sunday evening, AC Milan host Fiorentina at the San Siro, as the Rossoneri look to clinch a top-six spot in Serie A.
Milan are currently sixth-place in Serie A, occupying the last European spot. However, seventh-place Atalanta are just one point behind the men from Milan, so the Rossoneri cannot afford to slip up in this clash.
The home side’s recent form in Serie A has been inconsistent. However, too many draws have stopped Gennaro Gattuso’s side challenging for the top-four, as they have drawn five of their last eight league games. A positive for Milan is that they have suffered just two defeats in 19 outings in the top-flight.
Milan are also three games unbeaten in Serie A following a 1-1 draw with rivals Atalanta last time out.
Gattuso’s team have won just one of their last five outings in Serie A. Once again, though, three of those five games have finished all square.
Fiorentina have endured an inconsistent campaign. The team from Florence are currently eighth in the table, four points behind the hosts.
The Viola’s recent form has been in keeping with their season overall, as the visitors have won two, lost three and drawn one of their last five league outings. Their recent Serie A games have been low scoring, with six of their last nine league games producing under 2.5 goals.
Stefano Pioli’s side has a good recent away record in Serie A, having won four of their last five games on their travels in the Italian top-flight.
Neither side has too many personnel issues heading into this clash. For Milan, Nigerian wing-back Nnamdi Oduamadi remains suspended, while midfielder Andrea Conti is still sidelined due to a knee injury. Fiorentina are expected to be without young striker Simone Lo Faso due to injury.
