Huddersfield v Crystal Palace
BETTING & MATCH PREVIEW
In a vital game at the bottom of the Premier League table, Huddersfield host Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon at the John Smiths Stadium.
Huddersfield have experienced mixed fortunes in the Premier League of late. Last time out the Terriers drew 0-0 at home against fellow strugglers Swansea City. The result leaves David Wagner’s team four points clear of the 18th place visitors in the fight for survival.
The Yorkshire side have a poor recent home record in the Premier League, as they have won just one of their last seven league games at the John Smiths Stadium.
A big factor in that struggle for points is the fact that the Terriers have scored just six times in their last six league games on home soil. With a leaky Palace defence heading into town, the home side will be hoping to improve that record.
A winless run of seven games has seen Palace drop into the bottom three. However, Roy Hodgson’s side are just a point away from safety.
A 2-1 defeat at Chelsea last time out means that the Eagles have now suffered four straight league defeats. The visitors have also conceded at least two goals in their last four league outings.
Palace have won just one of their last six away games in the league, while also losing three of their last four on their travels.
The home side are without Netherlands defender Terence Kongolo due to injury. Midfielder Ellis Kachunga is back in training after injury, but this game may come too early.
Palace have a long injury list heading into this clash. Bakary Sako, Jason Puncheon, Julian Speroni and Scott Dann join Connor Wickham on the sidelines through injury. Joel Ward, Yohan Cabaye and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all fitness doubts.
